![]() Steve ‘Dr. Death’ Williams died of throat cancer last night. According to personal sources, pro wrestler Steven Williams died of throat cancer last night. He was only 49 years old. He went by the stage name, “Dr. Death.” Steve started wrestling in 1979,and won numerous titles in Japan. He competed for Mid-South Wrestling , the National Wrestling Alliance ,and World Championship Wrestling. He also had brief runs for the World Wrestling Federation and Extreme Championship Wrestling. During a ten year period of his career,he had a remarkable undefeated record in the United States. Top wrestling professionals have taken to “Twitter” to express their condolences. Chris Jericho wrote, ” “God bless u Dr Death not only were u a tough bastard as Stu would say, but you were also a fighter and a true inspiration. Gambate!!” Jeremy Borash wrote, “RIP Steve Williams. A man who fought cancer as tough as anyone and a real inspiration. Gonna be an Oklahoma Stampede in heaven.” Kevin Nash wrote, “My condolences go out to Dr. Death (Steve Williams) family and friends. We lost a great one today!” Taz wrote, “We lost a GREAT man. Steve “Dr. Death” Williams…RIP.” Daniels wrote, “RIP Dr. Death! Calling you a legend isn’t enough.
